How does your life’s vision align with the Energy Sciences’ Mission?

“I strive to be aware of my impact on the world in all areas. I strive to save energy and be more sustainable at home by establishing house rules that support this vision. Some of the things we do in our house are:”

A) Turn off lights when not in use.

B) Run the dishwasher and washing machine only when they are filled to full capacity.

C) Use natural cleaning products.

D) Recycle-every bit of plastic and paper.

E) Reuse and Repurpose household items.

F) Plan driving trips efficiently and work from home whenever possible to save on CO2 emissions.

G) Only place on-line orders when multiple items can be packaged and delivered at once.

What is it about the Energy Sciences’ culture that inspires you to come to work every day?

“I love the people that I work with, every single one of them. This is my number one priority in a workplace and I love coming to work at Energy Sciences where everyone is friendly, inclusive, collaborative and great at what they do. Being surrounded by such a great team inspires me to grow personally.

Additionally, I am given space to flourish and bring my best to my work. I have been given freedom to bring my skills and personality, the best of who I am, to my work in a way that I haven’t been able to before.

It is also so important that my personal values align with the company values. Everyday feels like I am making a difference and spending my time in meaningful work. This is one of the few jobs where I feel like I am making a direct positive impact. It feels like I am in the right place.”

What is the favorite part of your work as an engineer?

“I love numbers and working with them. It is a type of meditation for me; to calculate, analyze, problem solve for maximum energy savings for our clients. I am happiest when it is me and my spreadsheets! There is nothing better than finding huge KWH savings.”
