Berkley, MI or other unanticipated locations throughout U.S. 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities Include:
- Resolve complex technical issues in creative and effective ways.
- Work on projects and tasks where in-depth engineering evaluation of variable factors is required.
- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining the best technical results.
- Perform measurements and verification activities.
- Stay up to date with the local State applicable Energy Code and TRM.
- Coordinate technical activities with other engineers and train junior engineers if requested by the manager.
- Perform engineering review for utility energy efficiency programs projects. Identify and quantify energy efficiency opportunities.
- Perform energy and economic analyses for customer locations.
- Review energy assessments, opportunities, and calculations.
- Collaborate with customers, assist with technical questions, and develop projects.
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations.
- Conduct site surveys and facilities assessments.
- Measure and verify implemented energy conservation measures at industrial facilities.
- Train other technical team members.
- Demonstrate and embrace the company’s guiding principles.
Telecommuting permitted. Travel required to work sites as needed. M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Management, or a closely related field. 24 mos. experience as Energy Engineer, Application Engineer, or a related position. 24 months of experience in all of the following:
- Conducting energy assessments at commercial buildings, including economic and decarbonization analyses.
- Training on ASHRAE level 1 and level 2 energy audits.
- Measurement and verification of plan development per IPMVP protocols.
- Use plans to validate savings of measures identified during energy assessments.
- Create detailed building models to determine the operations performance of HVAC systems and available savings from installing energy conservation measures.
- Create new energy saving calculation tools or update existing tools per program requirements and industry standards.
